At my age, I should be at least 70% in equities based on conventional wisdom, but I'm a little bit concerned about the stock market. Vanguard is recommending a 40% stock and 60% bond allocation for the next decade, because they seem to think bonds will outperform stocks for the foreseeable future. They are also recommending more exposure to international equities. I'm inclined to follow their advice.
I don't know much about investing, but the financial advice I'm seeing seems to suggest that US equities aren't worth the risk going forward and we should be diversifying into other assets. Thoughts?
