This year I have started trading pairs; a combination of long and short positions in (correlated) stocks. For example long Bitcoin and short MicroStrategy. Thereby betting on the Bitcoin price relative to MicroStrategy instead of the dollar. `(BTC/USD)/(MSTR/USD) = BTC/MSTR`
Recently I realised that every investor is a pair trader.
When you buy Nvidia stock you are long Nvidia and short dollar.
