I'm 40, and I have a Regular 401k and Roth 401k account through my employer-sponsored retirement plan. I looked deeper and now learn and understand that I can have different investment options between those two. If this is the case, and from what I know or conventional wisdom: Regular 401k should be used for more conservative or income-oriented assets and Roth 401k are meant for higher-growth, equity-heavy investments. I currently have a TDF in both, but thinking I'll just swap the TDF with S&P 500 (FXAIX) and maybe small-cap (Though, my work on has 2 small-cap but ER are a bit high) in my Roth 401k.
Thoughts?
