Tesla is on the move with FSD approval and next gen AI chips timeline is finally getting clearer

automaker has set February 2026 as a goal for getting Full Self-Driving approved in Europe. This is quite an ambitious timeframe considering the usual strictness of the EU regulators.Meanwhile, Tesla is almost done with the design of its AI5 chip and the plan is to increase the annual chip production greatly as soon as that’s approved.
However, nothing here is upfront and certain in the short run; still, it does indicate the direction of Tesla’s energy: autonomy and in-house silicon. Whether these milestones will result in real momentum or just more delays will depend on the pace of regulators and how good the chip will be when it arrives.
For the time being, it’s another move in Tesla’s long game in the autonomy and AI hardware field.
