I fully invest and max out my 401k and Roth IRA, and use both the regular backdoor roth and mega backdoor roth contributions. And also have a money market account with my wife for emergency funds that gives us 3-4 years of cushion should something drastic or life-changing happens. So, I'll be fine in the retirement and savings category.
Now, when it comes to a taxable brokerage account, I was thinking of just building a small but mighty dividend portfolio with a few dividend ETFs that's mostly qualified dividends and very tax-efficient. I'd say it's more to generate income to cover for expenses of today (e.g., gas for car, insurance, rent, etc.). I have $20k cash that's sitting and collecting interest in a HYSA and want to just start investing.
Thoughts?
