have a first trust UIT in which the initial offering price was $10. My previous broker purchased that offering day. When looking at my cost basis for those shares it shows $10.41. looking at the fees on the [prospectus ](https://www.ftportfolios.com/Retail/dp/dpperformance.aspx?fundid=18532)it shows no initial sales charge, just deferred fees. Initially, there is only a .5% creation fee from what I see. I've since moved this portfolio to a self managed brokerage so I don't really see any info on the fees associated with this transaction that went to the previous brokerage. Is it safe to say that that .4% difference in purchase vs offering price went to them?
I did a quick calc. of what I paid vs. offering for the UITs I still have left (Once they expired I reinvested these in ETFs once I had control). I believe this guy did this every time they matured so we were in essence a cash cow for them to do very little work. Atop that, this brokerage seemed to have a $25 fee per UIT purchase. So every 1-1.5 years when these mature they would do it all over again if I had to guess. I just trusted them for years until I wanted to get into crypto and they said they could not do it and were expensive on the ETFs I wanted charging huge fees so I moved it all to fidelity to self manage it all. So this time (if I am correct in why the difference in purchase price vs. offering went to the broker), they got me for $2,262.12 + $25\*6 ($150) for $2,412.12. A sucker and his money were soon parted (Many times) :/
Each of these had a $10 offering price (Sorry for the column misalignment, I cannot figure out the formatting here)
