Goldman's report on FO investment: 25% of FOs already invested in sports, and another 25% are actively exploring it.

Why the surge?

1️⃣ Sports assets are seen as inflation hedge

2️⃣ Blend passion and prestige with long-term value creation

3️⃣ Patience is easier for family offices

The appetite is uneven:

➡️ 71% want exposure to men’s major leagues

➡️ Just 19% interested in women’s leagues

➡️ 31% interested in venues/RE and streaming technology

Blackstone's David Blitzer, is the first person with equity in all five US major sports leagues.

The question is - is FO investment a leading or lagging indicator of where to invest?
