Hiya,
I've recently started earning in ILS (previously GBP) - i had been investing in Vanguard's lifestrategy 80% through vanguard (which took GBP - although maybe the core etf was in something else), but in losing by British residency, I have also lost the ability to continue investing through that route.
I'm interested in still investing in vanguard's 80% life strategy as I feel comfortable with it, and have had very good returns, but now through IBRK. The only option I can find is 'VNGA80', or 'VNGD80', both of which are in EUR. this is my first time investing in my non living currency - and was wondering how much of a risk this is (especially ILS and EUR)?
For some reason i'd feel a bit safer being invested in USD, although I don't have a factual basis for this other than 'gut feeling'. Considering this, I was also thinking about investing 80% in 'VT' (or 'VWRL' once I fully understand the difference), which is in USD, and then finding a suitable bond market ETF to invest the remaining 20% in, in essence, making my own version of VNGA80 that I can adjust the bond / equity ratios along with my risk appetite.
Curious on people's thoughts?
