Why does my financial advisor buy SPY over FXAIX in my Roth IRA?

I am aware that SPY and FXAIX are very similar investments, to me FXAIX beats SPY out very easily due to expense ratios, (SPY - 0.09%, FXAIX - 0.02%). Otherwise, they are nearly identical index funds, with the only major difference being that SPY is an ETF and FXAIX is a mutual fund, (even so, VOO is still a lower cost ETF that beats SPY out pretty easily in my opinion.)

I have heard an argument that SPY can be easier to trade, but my Roth IRA is a buy and hold forever account. My FA is aware of this, and I do have a substantial 401K and taxable brokerage account/emergency savings to fall back on, in case of an emergency. Along with a 40+ year time horizon due to me being in my 20's.

Essentially, I view VOO as the best ETF and FXAIX as the best mutual fund. So honestly, why would anyone buy SPY at this point in time? I feel like my money is being wasted.

P.S. - I do have a great (personal) relationship with my FA and receive his services for free.
