TLDR: What are your thoughts on mid-cap investing?
I’ve recently become interested in investing and am trying to set up my 401k. I’ve heard people say to invest in funds that follow the S&P 500, so I’m looking into those. When comparing returns of the various funds offered, I see that some of the funds that have a mix of mid-cap and large-cap funds are relatively equal or slightly outperform the S&P style funds. Specifically I’m looking at MLRRX, VEIRX and VMGMX currently. How many people here invest a percentage of their portfolios in mid-cap? If you do, what’s your percentage? Thanks.
