Detailed analysis on Two Recession Proof Stocks

China’s not backing down and Trump is on his millionth retaliatory tariff against china and its only his 3rd month in office. This war no going away anytime soon. It's clear Donald Trump wants to rebuild America's economy to be self-sustaining and self-producing. He is willing to punish any company that doesn't build toward this vision, even American ones.

As such, I wanted to do a deep in depth analysis of which stocks had the highest chance of weathering this tariff war and a potential recession in the coming times.

I started by telling Xynth to scrape the web, for potential recession proof stocks mentioned by analysts, redditors and tweets:

Next, I asked Xynth to fetch the price data for these stocks for the past 2 years, and normalize them to plot the **normalized percentage** return graphs for each stock.  From there, I filtered out the **top 10** best-performing stocks over the past two years. This helped eliminate any stocks that had recently crashed or shown signs of instability. Here are the visuals it generated using python code (all price data is accurate up till the previous trading day).

To determine which of these stocks were worth exploring further, I asked Xynth to create a scoring system using each stock's fundamental data. Generally, the better the stock has the higher its assigned score would be.

Xynth wrote and executed code that would apply this scoring system to the metrics of each and every one of these stocks. Here were the results.

At this point, a clear divide emerged between the third and fourth stocks, signaling to me that the top three were truly worth a deeper look. Since DUK (Duke Energy Corporation) and SO (Southern Company) are in the same sector (electricity/utilities), I chose to focus on DUK and KR. I wanted to dig deeper into these two to see if I could build a solid case for them being recession proof.

First, I asked Xynth to analyze the price action of both stocks using technical indicators like RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, SMA, and volume. Since it was able to see the charts it generated, Xynth was also able to provide a well-written interpretation of the technical analysis.

Next, I wanted to analyze the revenue breakdown for each stock to understand which areas contribute most to their success. To do this, Xynth performed two additional web searches and used the existing financial metrics database to provide further analysis.

Lastly, I asked Xynth to combine all the research it had done along with the historical performance of each stock during past economic downturns into a comprehensive dashboard. The goal was to present an unbiased case for the recession proof potential of DUK and KR.

Please let me know if you guys have feedback for my DD process and I would love to hear your opinions of Kroger and DUK.
