How concerned is everyone about Trumps clear desire to destroy the independence of the Fed?

I know this could have huge negative implications for our economy and standing in the world, but I’m not precisely sure of exactly if the specifics based on my lack of background in this area. It seems to me though that if the independence of our fed is gone, that the credibility and faith in our economy is severely eroded. A less independent central bank is found in developing countries while more independent central banks are found in wealthier more developed countries. You also find less or no independence of central banks in Dictatorships. It also seems like this could affect our standing in the world and have negative consequences on the dollar as a reserve currency.
