This is all hypothetical. But say I work for a private company and it is experiencing industry wide factors that is affecting company performance negatively.
If I expect the industry to do worse than expected from first hand experience, is it insider trading to sell all my shares of competitors in the industry.
If it is insider trading, does that mean I’d just have to accept the likely loss and be invested in an industry I don’t think will have good return? When would I be allowed to sell?
