# I feel like what I'm looking for is niche, and I'm too inexperienced to fully figure this out. Any kind of advice would be appreciated.
I recently have been trying to educate myself more about the markets, and have been considering adding some individual stocks to my portfolio to help diversify. To do this though, I need to pick a normal online brokerage account. I want the ability to actively trade and be able to look at charts, in case I want to day trade at convenient opportunities, or for other reasons I might decide on in the future.
Currently, I have a 401k set at 12% with Lincoln Financial, a Mutual Fund and Roth IRA through Cetera Investments, a Checking account, and a recently opened brokerage account in Vanguard. The 401k is set to 12% to get my full match, however I receive a decent amount of cash tips at my job. I was testing out Vanguard after some research to see if I liked it. I quickly realized that day trading isn't really an option with Vanguard.
What I would like is to find a company that I can rollover my mutual fund, IRA, and brokerage account into. Its been difficult for me to find the drawbacks or fees to do this, and I don't fully understand the process. I have 10,500 in the mutual fund and 1,500 in the IRA. Cetera has been pretty awful to work with and I'm not certain on the fees they charge to manage the two. I need software with a better ability to be able to deposit money into both accounts from my checking, because that's the only way I can really get my cash tips invested. I still plan on having those two accounts managed by the investment company. The brokerage account, I would like to fully manage myself. The amount of money I would deposit into this is going to be fairly small (300-500), and at erratic times for whenever I feel like it or have some extra money. Like I said, its mostly to play around with and educate myself. I plan to look at buying stocks with low buy costs, so that I can increase the amount of shares I purchase to help with flexibility. I want the ability to buy and sell very quickly if the opportunity arises, as well as taking my hands off for weeks. With all of this combined, I'm trying to keep in mind that I would like the overall fees to be as low as possible. Especially considering I won't even be looking at my accounts most days. Any advice on these specific issues, or anything related is appreciated.
TLDR: I'm looking to move my accounts to a company that has...
* low to no fees for account management as well as brokerage fees that could happen during day trades
* a user friendly and responsive interface that connects with my bank account easily
* user friendly charts and is ideal for day trading
* good options and management for Mutual Funds, IRAs, regular brokerage accounts, and possibly 401k in the future
* good customer support would be a bonus
Any and all advice is appreciated.
P.S. I am not looking for a knew financial advisor, so don't DM me with a sales pitch. I only trust the opinions of random people on reddit with no proof of actual qualifications.
