People seem very worried that these geopolitical relationships will take forever to repair. I disagree. The GOP is shooting itself in both feet by indulging this madness, and the majority of foreign nations are going to welcome a return to normalcy with open arms when the pendulum inevitably swings back. That said, I think it’s gonna be a wild 2 years (while all three branches are GOP controlled) and an annoying 4 years with many more trumpertantrums to be thrown. The damage he does won’t be irreversible, but I’m sure it will take a bit of time to mend all the broken bridges. The market, on the other hand, will mend as soon as there’s an inkling of hope - as seen yesterday - and while I acknowledge a strong bias on this matter, I’ll still be cautiously enjoying the many discounts until then.
