I don’t like Trump and I don’t like his reform, but if they pass, I think it’s important to stay optimistic
I will say that don’t think it’s totally fair to compare today with the great depression. Tech has grown in ways that will help our domestic production. Robotics, AI, 3D-printing, quantum (eventually). I feel like we’re at that point where that transition is happening now
Traditionally local manufacturing always had higher labor costs…. but with AI/robotics it could make production more reliable + cheaper…
If advanced tech starts to produce goods here, tariffs would help protect those industries during their transition in the US. That’s my only way to justify any intention to do so
