Scenario: my kid is in 9th grade. Her 529 is mostly index funds. It's lost like 5% over the last couple of weeks. In 2020, I had it in a 529 that was mdiversified with bonds and it lost money due to those bonds dropping in value so much and the stocks stagnating. I'm deciding between a.) leaving it and hoping for the best, b.) moving it back to a bond-heavy 529 based on some advice I read but which makes me nervous, and c.) pulling it for now and keeping it in a high yield savings account until the current crisis blows over (knowing that might be for the next entire 4 years of this administration and maybe even beyond if this sends us south).
Thoughts?
