You have $250k surplus cash right now, how do (or would) you DCA into this market?

Currently in this very fortunate yet also confusing situation. I’m (40m) married (38f) with two kids (3/6) - the kids 529s are both well funded so that’s off the table - they each have smaller UTMAs and I don’t plan to increase any contributions there. All tax advantaged accounts are also maxed.

That really only leaves primary brokerage as an option (I don’t want to deal with real estate or a business) - we work with an advisor we like who has a small portion of our retirement assets. After yesterday’s drop I asked her to move 50k into their firm’s fund. I’m debating doing $50k every other month for the next 8 months, just to take the emotion out of entering the market, while also giving this political shitstorm a little time to breathe. But TBH I really don’t know as that’s not rooted in any sound logic I’m convinced of.

These aren’t need to have funds but they also aren’t nice to have either - I’d like to step back from my career in the 50-53 YO window to enjoy some more of life while in near peak health.

I’d venture to guess that 90% of the folks here are more seasoned that me on these matters and I’d be very curious to hear your perspectives. Thanks!
