I am meeting with a fidelity wealth advisor tomorrow and I don’t know how much I can trust him with $500,000. Im afraid to lose any of that really because once it’s gone I have no clue what will do. I am 30 year of nursing student but I also work very limited hours each week which pays my living expenses. my home and cars are paid off. Some people are telling me to trust the fiduciary advisor I will be meeting but others are calling investing a gamble. What do you think? How much of that 500k should I leave to the side incase things don’t work out for me?
ETA: the closest thing I have came to investing was when I put $7000 into an index fund and watched it grow about 44% in two years? But I also could have just gotten lucky and was able to do it because I didn’t care too much about that 7k. I def care about $500k
