I don't mean to be a doomsdayer here and I'm well aware that there have been forecasts of a collapse every year but I can't shake the feeling that the economy is headed is the wrong direction.
I have seen with my own eyes the living standards fall year over year here to unsustainable levels. The middle classes are being squeezed out of existence. Less and less people have any disposable income at the end of the month after their bills are paid. More and more people are drowning in debt.
This ain't good for the economy. People have less = people spend less = less profits.
There is absolutely no sign this will turn around. In fact, it is only due to intensify.
The 70 years after the war have been a real golden age for Capitalism. It's now falling in on itself. The rich who own the assets will continue to get richer whilst the poor and middle classes get poorer until the system collapses imo. Greed will be its downfall.
For companies to grow, their needs to be a strong middle class with spending power.
Am I wrong?
