I am finally going to start investing since I am finished with school and am wondering if I am doing this right. Where should I start?
I’m a 28F. Gross salary $250,000/yr (no yearly increase: 2yr contract). My living expenses will be $2500/month (rent, all bills, car, phone, etc). I will also contribute 6k/mo to my student loans (287k federal loans). I want to pay my loans as fast as possible to save on interest.
After my deductions ((401k match 3% (I will contribute 6%)), living expenses, and loans, I will roughly have about $3500/month for other things.
I was thinking of making an emergency fund account (20%), HYSA (20%), and a regular savings (10%).
Should I do anything else? I am lost, I don’t have a CPA, and am worried I may be doing something wrong.
Any advice is appreciated!
