Funds like VFTAX and ESGV aren't inherently "good" because they are dominated by US Tech and Big Pharma Holdings? Do "good" ESG Funds exist?
I'm exploring vanguards offerings to re-balance to reduce risk, while also investing in things that are objectively good for the world for the first time. I'm still learning and not someone who picks individual stocks. I like index funds/ETFs for the ease of management. I have literally 100% of my …
Is the oil spike actually sustainable or just another geopolitical premium?
Lately oil prices have been moving up again, mostly driven by geopolitical tensions and the risks around the Strait of Hormuz. Around 20 percent of global oil flows through that route, so even the possibility of disruption can push prices higher quickly. But looking at previous spikes, it often feels …
My buys for Monday 3/16/26
https://imgur.com/a/IQpGpFh Here are my buys for the morning. Most people should just invest in the S&P500 and chill, but I choose individual stocks because I'm delusional enough to think I can beat the market. These stocks are what my formulas came up with as the "best" buys for this week. …
Where do you calculate your position size before entering a trade?
I do it directly from the buy/sell panel. You set the risk and stop loss, it calculates the quantity, sends the order to the broker, and the entry / stop / take-profit levels appear on the chart so they can be adjusted visually. How do you usually do it?

Treasury, Gold and commodities
I was listening to an analyst and they mentioned that due to the Russian-Ukraine war the international community froze Russian assets including US treasuries. Due to this countries started to go away from treasuries and went into gold. They could still convert gold to buy commodities. Now the Iran war …
$200 oil impact on stocks (S&P)
$200 a barrel is being discussed as a worst case price for oil if the war continues. Has there been any modeling on the impact to stocks if this were to occur? I figure use the S&P as a baseline, perhaps there is analysis that’s been done that provides the …
With US occupied with Iran, will China use this as its opportunity to seize Taiwan?
Ive been thinking. With the US sending so many of its warships and military assets to Iran, this would be the perfect time for China to take Taiwan if they were ever going to do it. Like this literally would be the best time ever for them to do it. …
Does anyone else feel like stagflation risk is creeping back?
It kind of feels like the market isn’t really afraid of just one thing right now, It’s more the combination of inflation staying high while growth starts slowing down. That’s usually the kind of environment that makes investors uneasy because it puts central banks in a tough spot. Curious if …
