Just hoping someone can explain to me in simple terms why the price of gold has been going down in line with the rest of the market over the last few weeks? I always thought gold was a safe buy during periods of turmoil but it seems that it's just as unstable as the rest of the market. Apologies I am new to investing so I have a very basic understanding!
