Centrus Energy ($LEU) – The Uranium Sleeper
Here’s the deal regards. Everyone and their mother is yapping about AI, semiconductors, and whatever overhyped garbage CNBC is pushing, but they’re sleeping on one of the most obvious nuclear plays. Governments are tripping over themselves trying to figure out how to meet energy demand while pretending to care about the environment, and guess what? Wind and solar ain’t cutting it. You know what is? Nukes.
But that’s not even the best part. Centrus isn’t just another uranium miner hoping to dig up rocks in the middle of nowhere. These guys are literally the only U.S. company licensed to produce high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU). That’s the good stuff, the high-performance juice that next-gen nuclear reactors need. And since the U.S. government doesn’t want to be dependent on Russia (took them long enough to figure that out), Centrus is sitting in prime position to get showered with government money.
So what’s happening now? The stock’s up over 100% in the past six months. But here’s where it gets fun—despite the run-up, this thing is still only sitting at a $1.2B market cap. Compare that to other energy plays, and this thing is insanely undervalued relative to the potential demand for U.S. uranium enrichment. If (when) the Department of Energy throws more funding their way, this thing prints like a broken slot machine.
• The U.S. is going all-in on nuclear. Bills are being passed, reactors are being planned, and supply chains are being locked down.
• Russia’s still a mess, and Western nations are scrambling to find domestic uranium sources. Centrus is already ahead of the pack.
• Their HALEU facility is literally the only one in the U.S. that’s licensed and operational. No competition. No dilution (for now). Just straight government-backed monopoly energy.
