Started at 20 years old to invest this month. Worst possible moment to do it?

Everything seems to get fucked up in a few months or early years, I'm noober than a noob so I'm just investing in gold, etfs and a couple companies, but if market correction and recession come like it's looking to come Am I fucked? I plan to invest in the long term (+20yrs) but the fear of these early years lf not seeing literally any growth or even losing money scares me. I don't know I'm just trying to see opinions😅
