FSLR (First Solar) - incredible opportunity after yesterday's 10% drop?
I've been looking at First Solar after the sell-off, and the valuation looks hard to ignore.
Yesterday the stock fell 10.3% to close at $172.16. The drop came mostly from a broad solar sell-off I think. Enphase and SolarEdge fell too after all. The trailing P/E is about 10.6x now. That seems ridiculously low for a company that is perfectly positioned to capture the booming solar demand of the next 10-15 years.
Q2 margin expanded to 33.6% as well.
Of course, this stock will always be a bit of a bet considering the sector, the subsidies it partly relies on and its impact by tariffs. But this simply seems too cheap even with all that in mind.
Am I missing something?
