I’ve recently started investing in stocks and shares. I read about the ethics of some of these companies and wasn’t very happy investing in them. So I often for SRI and ESG funds just to find out most of the bad companies are still in them.
It’s also very tech heavy and I don’t know how I feel about funding AI companies. I’ve also heard the returns are significantly less in the ESG funds.
In an ideal world, I would invest ethically and it would be fine but what I am asking here is, is ESG/SRI a gimmick?
Am I contributing to ruining the planet by just investing normally?
