CTVA is a well managed company that has given me good returns over the years. Its recent spin off is another opportunity to add more shares for me, I will wait for Vylor for a better value. Added few thousands more yesterday and Morningstar fair value estimate of 20.00.
# "Corteva: Our Fair Value Estimate Is $20 Following Vylor Seeds Spinoff
[Seth Goldstein](https://www.morningstar.com/people/seth-goldstein) Oct 1, 2026
On Oct. 1, Corteva completed the spinoff of its seeds business, which will be a publicly traded company named Vylor.
**Why it matters:** Vylor generated the majority of profits when it was a part of Corteva, so Corteva's profile will change following the divestiture. Now, Corteva is a crop protection pure-play business.
* Since being spun off from DowDuPont in 2019, Corteva has built a strong portfolio of patented and differentiated products. Corteva has gone from 10% of sales from patented products in 2017 to 65% of sales from patented and differentiated products this year.
* We expect Corteva will continue to focus on the development of new, patented products with a focus on new molecules that can help farmers deal with weeds, insects, and fungi that have developed resistance to traditional crop protection products."
