BOTC - Solana token with an actual spend: buying blocks in Botropolis, the city behind a 24/7 robot TV network

Disclosure up front: I'm Jon Shaivitz, the dev behind Botflix and BOTC, so weigh this accordingly. No price predictions here, just what's built and what isn't.

**What exists today:** Botflix is a 24/7 TV network from a fictional robot civilization. It's been live for over a year and runs four channels around the clock. Botropolis is the city those robots live in, built as a browsable map of 4,788 blocks across six districts: [botropolis.botflix.tv](https://botropolis.botflix.tv/)

**What BOTC does:** BOTC is the currency of Botropolis. You sign in, connect a Solana wallet, and buy a block. The price is set in USD and converted to BOTC at checkout. Owners can name their block and resell it to other users, and 1% of each resale goes to the treasury. The first 100 buyers also get a public plaque and a spot on the Founders Wall. The backend verifies the Solana transfer before ownership changes.

**The problem it's aimed at:** Most memecoins have nothing to spend them on. BOTC is meant to be spent on something visible, tied to a broadcast that airs every day.

**Competitors:** Decentraland and The Sandbox are far bigger, but they use NFT land and need heavy 3D clients. "Own a square" sites like the Million Dollar Homepage have no world or ongoing story behind them.

**Pros**

* Runs in a normal browser.
* Blocks are app records, not NFTs, so there's nothing to mint.
* The mint and treasury addresses are published on the site.
* Mint and freeze authority are both revoked.

**Cons, read these**

* It's very early. Outside of checkout tests, nobody has bought a block yet, and the Founders Wall is at 0/100.
* BOTC only trades on PumpSwap.
* Both the token and the blocks can lose value. There's no staking, yield, or airdrop.
