I’ve been investing for about a decade now and one of the things I like to do is look at my dividends and how they have grown over time. I have a pretty traditional portfolio that is spread mostly across US and international broad based index funds.
I’m actively investing, so I typically see dividend growth year to year regardless of fluctuations in market factors.
For the first time since I’ve been investing I noticed my Q3 2026 dividends fell short of my Q3 2025 dividends. I don’t really recall this ever happening in the period I’ve been investing. I only check from quarter to quarter as most of the funds payout dividends quarterly.
Is there any math out there on this? I’m curious to see how Q4 turns out.
