I’ve been a full time trader for about 4 years now. Last year I had a killer year, did over $90k in profits just swing trading breakouts or bull flags etc. This year has been horrible since March pretty much. I’ll take a loss this year no doubt. Every single trade I take, it fails and rolls over and stops me out. Strategy hasn’t changed a single bit. My win rate last year was around 65% with a minimum R:R of 3:1, often 5-6:1.
What is going on? I can’t wrap my ahead around it apart from the complete chaos of the Iran war/oil, yields and a certain tweets at 2am that changes the entire direction of the market. What are you all doing to cope? What’s working? Even the guy who taught me (has a major swing trading school) said this is the worst he’s ever seen it in 23 years of trading.
