I’ve recently started looking into **Vistra (VST)** and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s actually a good opportunity at the current valuation.
One thing that caught my attention is the amount of political and insider activity around the stock. **Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump, Ro Khanna, Julia Letlow and other politicians have disclosed VST trades**, while Vistra CEO James Burke recently bought roughly **$1.17M of VST shares** in open-market purchases.
That obviously doesn’t mean the stock is automatically a buy, so I’m interested in hearing both sides.
Do you guys think VST is a good investment at these levels? Are there better companies in the power/energy space with a better risk/reward?
And if you think VST is **not** a good stock, what specifically is the biggest issue — valuation, debt, competition, power prices, nuclear exposure, or something else?
Looking for an unbiased discussion, especially the bear case.
