1,900 Autonomous Mining Trucks. Yeah, Physical AI Is Getting Real.

This number caught my attention today: CiDi says it has shipped 1,900 autonomous mining trucks.

We're way past the stage where autonomous mining is just a cool demo at a tech conference. CiDi's filings show how quickly deployment is scaling, with autonomous trucks being used across real mine sites and the company developing AI systems that coordinate trucks, excavators, road conditions, charging and collision avoidance in real time.

And this is exactly why the EyeX angle around $NRED keeps getting more interesting to me.

Go through EyeX's material and they're HEAVY on autonomy, computer vision and turning existing physical infrastructure into intelligent systems. Cameras, drones, vehicle feeds, robots and thermal systems can become inputs for tracking equipment, spotting hazards, monitoring restricted zones and understanding what's happening across a mine in real time.

That's the layer autonomous mines increasingly need.

A mine with 100 autonomous trucks doesn't suddenly need LESS visibility. It needs more. More cameras. More perception. More alerts. More coordination. More understanding of what every machine is doing around every other machine.

And NRED's strategy is lining up with that future pretty nicely.

MetalCore = intelligence around where to explore.

EyeX = potential intelligence around what machines and people are doing on the physical site.

CiDi shipping 1,900 autonomous mining trucks is a pretty loud signal that physical AI in mining is moving into actual industrial deployment.

That's why I'm paying attention to NRED trying to get exposure to this technology before the autonomous mine becomes normal.
