Does reddit have a cap on profitability due to some inherent design choices?

Do you think Reddit has growth potential that can become realised when it has more users? Or do you think due to the moderator ruled subreddit culture, anonymity, and NSFW content, it has some upper limit to ad revenues and profitability?
