Did anyone else catch the second CELU push after 10:30? I assumed I was already late
I nearly ignored CELU today. It had already gone from an $0.88 previous close into the $1.60s, and usually when I notice a biotech runner that late I'm about to become someone's exit liquidity.
Stock Pulse mobile app flagged it at 10:34 ET around $1.67. Instead of immediately falling apart, it held the $1.60 area and started pushing again. At 11:04 it hit $2.55. I definitely didn't expect another 53% from where the alert came through.
I looked up the news afterward. Celularity is setting up U.S. manufacturing for MuseCell Innovations at its New Jersey facility. The release also mentions the possibility of more than $300 million in purchases over five years.
Important detail: that $300 million is a projection, not a signed purchase commitment. It depends on qualification, future demand and the relationship expanding beyond the initial project. Source: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260827982573/en/
CELU still closed at $2.08 after trading about 217 million shares, so the second push wasn't just a stray wick. But I would have treated this as a momentum trade, not as proof the company suddenly secured $300 million in revenue.
For anyone who traded it: were you watching the price action, or did the headline keep you in? I was late to the news and probably would have sold the first push too early.
