Newell Brands ($NWL): FAQ for Getting Payment on the $12.61M Fair Fund over Financial Reporting Issues

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re considering [late claims](https://11th.com/cases/newellbrands-fairfund), I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.

So here's all I know about this agreement:

Newell Brands was accused of misleading investors about its financial performance by using accounting practices that inflated reported sales growth and working capital results. After Newell reported disappointing third-quarter results in November 2017, $NWL fell 25%, and the SEC later took action against the company and its former CEO. Now the company has agreed to settle $12.61 million with investors for their losses.

Who can claim this settlement?
If you purchased $NWL between 2016 and 2017, you may be eligible to participate. Late claims are currently being considered for compensation, subject to approval.

Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. You don't need to still own the shares. If you bought or sold $NWL during the class period and meet the other eligibility requirements, you may be able to claim.

How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.

Hope this info helps
