$DFSC why would a general manager from a $100B company join a $4M company?

$DFSC ($4M market cap) David Ibbetson former general manager of General Dynamics (100B market cap) joined board of directors in April, just as DFSC began ramping up their testing with the US army:

"My goal is to see DEFSEC’s technology embedded as standard kit, so that the warfighter can rely on this technology for mission success and survivability.”

Table from MD&A:

“We consider a product to have reached the commercialization phase when we have begun LRIP and we have a sales, marketing, and distribution plan for the product. Commercialization may precede a first sale of the product.”

“Awaiting customer validation and follow-on orders.”

I'm not saying DFSC gonna get procured by NATO or the US army, but for Ibbetson to join a $4M market cap company is special. Right as they say they're in the commercialisation phase of BLISS. Ibbetson been involved in several multi hundred million dollar projects:

Canadian Army Land C4ISR Program

In 2019, Ibbetson oversaw the acquisition of three massive In-Service Support (ISS) contracts valued at over $620 million to maintain and modernize the Canadian Army’s Land Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems:

Transition Software ISS ($197.75M): Integrates data points like GPS tracking into a unified situational awareness interface for tactical decisions.

Cyber Security Engineering ISS ($56.50M): Focuses on protecting critical combat data and mobile network hardware from cyber threats and data theft.

Engineering and Integration ISS ($367.25M): Ensures the full hardware and software compatibility across all Canadian Army vehicles and command stations.

Royal Canadian Navy Halifax-Class Modernization. Ibbetson directed several major naval lifecycle and tech programs for the Royal Canadian Navy:

Halifax-class Combat Systems (HCCS) ISS: A multi-million dollar support contract awarded in 2020 to ensure radar and tracking subsystems remain mission-ready.

Underwater Warfare Suite Upgrade (UWSU): A sweeping technological upgrade focused on improving and maintaining advanced underwater acoustic sensors across the Halifax-class fleet.

Saudi Aramco Integrated Security Systems: Managing a multi-million dollar "Lump Sum Turn Key" project delivering integrated telecommunications, IT, and electronic security frameworks to safeguard onshore and offshore critical infrastructure facilities across the Gulf.

Not financial advice, I have a position in defsec technologies.
