$DFSC - What "end of August" army trial is the special invite for? And how does BLISS hold up to vehicle LWS specs?

Very binary, no guarantees at all they'll get procured, but a few things line up pretty good.

The US army been hunting for 4000 vehicle laser warning systems since last year.

Defsecs earlier BLDS were tested on vehicles with the us army in 2025, newer networked BLISS did yuma durability 2026, and now a special invite for a third US army evaluation.

The testing could possibly be ramping up because decision makers for the 4000 order need to decide what tech they're going for.

"-The contract is expected to be awarded in FY26, and the production lead time after quality acceptance could be up to 12 months."

As now in August, I found The us army is running two tests.

1. XVIII Airborne Corps Tests Emerging Autonomous Attritable Systems for Today’s Battlefield.

2. Live-fire tests at the Range 63 training ground at Fort Liberty of a Ford F-250 pickup truck equipped with an autonomous driving system.

The miniaturized BLISS sensors can be integrated anywhere. They can be vehicle-mounted, attached to fixed infrastructure, or worn directly by dismounted personnel OR autonomous robotic vehicles/units.

Survivability of autonomous units is crucial. Cheap laser warning systems telling the autonomous units where the threat is located, what type of weapon, laser emitting and intent, gives it the possibility to deploy counter measures.

Defsec got three people on management and board with former careers at General Dynamics.

In July 2026 Canadian government made a deal with GDMS and will invest nearly $2 billion over four years to build and deliver 190 additional Armoured Combat Support Vehicles.

"-Interpro in Regina will produce advanced armour, Thales Canada (defsec got a contract with Thales) in Saint-Laurent, Que., will supply thermal imaging systems and IMP Aerospace & Defence in Enfield, N.S., will supply other specialized components.

Those companies, and others across the country, will send their components to General Dynamics which will assemble the vehicles in London, Carney said."

Nothing mentioned about BLISS or defsec on this $2B deal, but defsec got a subcontract with Thales Canada to provide specialized software development and digitization services for the Canadian military.

Not financial advice, i have a position in defsec technologies, dydd.
