How much could gold and oil prices impact value stocks in September?

I’ve been thinking about how gold and oil prices could affect the market going into September, especially from a value investing perspective.

If oil prices remain high, energy companies could continue to benefit, but higher energy costs could also put pressure on margins in industries like transportation, manufacturing, and consumer goods.

Gold is interesting for a different reason. If investors continue looking for safety, gold-related companies could attract more attention. At the same time, interest rates, inflation, and the strength of the dollar could change that pretty quickly.

Rather than trying to predict where gold or oil prices will go next, I’m more interested in how value investors are positioning around these trends.

Are there any sectors or companies you think are currently undervalued because the market is overlooking the impact of commodity prices?

And for those holding energy or gold-related stocks, are you buying more, holding, or taking some profits?

Interested to hear how other value investors are looking at this.
