I've been reflecting on my own research process and realised that once I like a company, I naturally spend more time reading bullish opinions than bearish ones.
That made me wonder if there's room for a research assistant whose only job is to challenge your thinking.
Instead of recommending stocks, it would review your investment thesis and highlight:
* Weak assumptions
* Missing evidence
* Contradictory data
* Risks that deserve more attention
* Questions you should answer before investing
The goal isn't to predict returns. It's to help investors make more balanced decisions.
Would something like this be useful, or is this already solved by your current research process?
I'm especially interested in hearing from people who build detailed investment theses.
