Georgina Energy (LSE: GEX) - Upcoming Spud for Large Helium Resources

I want to put a play from the other side of the pond on your radar for anyone looking to diversify outside the US exchanges. The company is Georgina Energy (Ticker: **GEX** on the London Stock Exchange), it’s a Helium Exploration company. It sits on the UK Main Market, so it’s fully regulated and not bouncing around the OTC pink sheets.

The underlying fundamentals and the upcoming timeline make it a genuinely interesting setup. Here is a quick overview of why it’s gaining a lot of traction locally right now:

* **The Catalyst:** They have a fully funded drill programme scheduled to spud in September at their Hussar prospect in onshore Australia. The pre-drill civil engineering and site works are already well underway, and they’ve secured the Ensign 970 drill rig for the job.
* **The Resources:** The drill is targeting primary subsalt reservoirs for Helium, Hydrogen, and natural gas. Independent consultants have confirmed the prospect has the potential to yield 155 BCFG of Helium and 173 BCFG of Hydrogen. At current market rates, the combined in-situ value of those resources is massive, i.e in the region of £150billion, current market cap is £20m (after recent run)
* **Recent Market Action:** The share price has been incredibly active recently. It has seen some serious upward movement (up over 35% in the last week and heavily up year-to-date) as the market starts pricing in the Q3 drill anticipation. The volatility is high, which is providing some excellent swing opportunities for those actively trading it.

With the drill fully funded and the rig mobilising soon, the risk/reward profile heading into September looks highly compelling. It is definitely worth throwing on a watchlist if you track global resource plays or are looking for a high-upside energy swing.

As always, DYOR!
