Is there a formula for measuring opportunity cost?

How do you measure when it's mathematically best to cut your losses and move on? Or would every scenario be completely different? Is there a common guideline for every opportunity cost situation? Does vibe play into it at all or would feeling be misleading? Does it matter what the rest of the market is doing, e.g., everything is tanking and on sale?

I'm specifically curious about SOFI (what have you done if you hold or held SOFI?) but I'm really asking in general for all stocks and/or ETFs. Thanks.
