"Oil & Gas" names have high sales growth. But is it all gas/LNG? How much is durable?
Oil & gas companies have some of the highest sales growth over the past year (TTM vs. previous TTM), but price of oil is actually down. Natural gas and LNG seem to be driving all the growth. Could be an interesting growth sector outside of AI (???), but not sure how durable it is.
**Gas** might be growing due to **price increase** (Henry Hub up 50+% off 2024's record low) **-** Is it **cyclical?**
Is some of the gas demand growth **due to datacenters?** Or is current demand from datacenters **relatively small?**
**LNG** feels like it could be **more structural** with new terminals? (**and less tied to AI**)
Is anyone familiar with the industry and has an opinion/insight? Thanks for your help!
