NREDF Has A 16,078-Hectare BC Copper-Gold Project And A 2026 Geophysics Catalyst Coming

Copper is getting harder to ignore with AI data centers, grid upgrades, defense supply chains, EVs, robotics and electrification all pulling on the same metal. The big copper names are already obvious: FCX, BHP, TECK, HBM. The more interesting penny-stock screen for me is the junior exploration bucket, where one strong catalyst can suddenly put a small name on more watchlists.

NovaRed Mining, CSE: NRED / OTCQB: NREDF, is one I keep coming back to. Its Wilmac Copper-Gold Project sits in British Columbia’s Quesnel porphyry belt, roughly 10 km west of Hudbay’s Copper Mountain Mine. The land package is 16,078 hectares, or about 160 square kilometers, roughly 39,700 acres, about 30,000 football fields, or about 2.7x Manhattan. That is a large footprint for a junior copper-gold explorer in a known BC mining belt.

The North Lamont target gives it a clear technical thread to follow. NovaRed reported copper-in-soil values up to 379 ppm Cu, with a western cluster of 9 samples above 150 ppm Cu averaging about 209 ppm Cu. The company also has historical 3DIP/AMT interpretation and 2026 IP/AMT geophysics planned, which could help sharpen the next target map before drilling decisions.

The extra angle is MetalCore, NovaRed’s AI-driven mineral evaluation platform. The company filed U.S. patent application No. 19/680,101 for parcel-level mineral evaluation using integrated geological data and probabilistic scoring. So NREDF is not only a BC copper-gold land package. It also has an AI mineral-screening story attached to it.

This is the kind of penny-stock setup I like watching: strong copper macro, BC jurisdiction, large project scale, North Lamont soil data, 2026 geophysics catalyst, and an AI exploration angle. Liquidity and volatility matter with OTC juniors, but the catalyst stack is getting interesting.
