Some takeaways I have from the Q&A portion of the call:
\- TSMC is unable to meet demand for leading edge nodes and invites competitors to prop up their customers (CSPs) dependence on said nodes for AI compute. Understanding their position is to swallow up the market upon them completing a \~3/5 year ramp to meet demand.
\- TSMC sees customer demand as natural aggressive positioning from CEOs and is reluctant to claim any guarantees on continued demand. Although a positive outlook is sustained by growth in applications/products utilizing advanced compute.
\- A general wait and see attitude towards fulfilling customers needs.
So my understanding of the story shared at the end of the call, outside of the numbers beat and overall growth optimism, was a somewhat skepticism towards their customers near term direction on CAPEX. Leading me to believe the broader story needs some juice or an injection of faith from its customers on future revenue streams.
I don’t know. I’m 12 y/o. Do you guys have any thoughts?
