Once such example is the token called 'Autonomi'. It's a token that was originally called Maidsafe, and was around when Bitcoin was less than 100 dollars. It was one of the very first tokens and launched on something called Omni.
Since then it's being in continuous development and has only recently officially launched after over a decade of research and iteration to overcome some serious technological hurdles in p2p scientific research.
So this is no normal token. It's a network that provides the first true distributed storage system. Think of it like torrenting where you have seeders that provide content. However in traditional torrenting if those seeders stop seeding, that content is not available anymore.
This system instead allows you to pay to upload data, and then it's stored forever and un-censorable by any central entity. The data is replicated on at least 5 nodes and should any of those go down it gets replicated onto others like a sort of virus. People are already building applications on-top so you can access content from your normal browser. So soon you can expect decentralized versions of dropbox, netflix, spotify and more.
