Down 7.18% in 1H2026, but honestly the drawdown felt manageable. Anyone else tracking their semi-annual performance?
Portfolio finished 1H2026 down 7.18%, trailing the S&P 500 the whole way. January was the worst stretch, just a relentless grind lower.
The May-June recovery was real though. Easing US-Iran tensions brought risk appetite back and capital rotated hard into tech and AI names, NASDAQ pushed to all-time highs at one point. Felt like the thesis was finally working.
Then June CPI came in hotter than expected and the whole rotation reversed overnight. Tech and AI names got hit again as the inflation anxiety kicked back in. Pulled up the charts on moomoo and the momentum shift was sharp, no gradual fade.
Ngl the underperformance is frustrating, but the drawdown stayed controlled the whole time, no single catastrophic leg down. Whether that discipline holds in 2H depends entirely on how the inflation story develops.
Anyone else reviewing 1H results? Curious if people are staying overweight tech or rotating into defensives given the CPI miss.
