Most people see “Pepe” and assume it’s just another ERC20 meme token.
PEP isn’t that.
PEP is Pepecoin, its own Layer 1 blockchain. Proof of Work. Merge mined with Litecoin and Doge. No ICO. No presale. No VC allocation. Circulating supply is basically fully reflected on CMC. Structurally it’s closer to Dogecoin than to a copy paste frog token on Ethereum.
And here’s the big difference most people miss:
PEP is still a small market cap L1.
That’s where the upside thesis comes from. When you’re starting from a low base, the math allows for asymmetric returns. A 1000x move is impossible for something already sitting at multi billions, but it’s mathematically possible for a small cap chain that gains real traction.
Compare that to PEPE on Ethereum. It already has a massive market cap and insane supply. It gets volume, sure, but its upside is structurally capped by its starting valuation. PEP doesn’t have that problem.
Over the last year PEP has:
• Completed its halvings and locked in long term emission
• Integrated into wallets like Tangem and Coinomi
• Built swap tools directly on [Pepecoin.org](http://pepecoin.org/)
• Launched ecosystem tools like Nintondo and Pepinals
• Acquired both [Pepecoin.org](http://pepecoin.org/) and [pepecoin.com](http://pepecoin.com/)
• Very recently appeared on Kraken’s listing page
That domain acquisition alone shows long term intent. Most projects never secure both .org and .com.
This isn’t some VC funded hype machine either. It’s been extremely grassroots and community driven from day one. People mining it, building tools, showing up to events, pushing listings, building awareness. It survived exchange drama early on and kept building instead of disappearing.
But if the meme sector keeps growing and people eventually rotate into projects with actual infrastructure instead of just token hype, there is only one Pepe that is its own blockchain.
Do your own research. Just make sure you’re looking at PEP, not PEPE.
