Keysight Technologies (KEYS) and Keep Looking Ahead (KLAC) B2B businesses
What are your thoughts on Keysight technologies (KEYS) as a company? It doesn't have many competitors and is top in its business segment.
However, how many people do need these products which require a high level of electronics knowledge. Does that make its business difficult to scale?
Similarly, KLAC is chip yield management. Though there are competitors like ASML, AMAT and LAM Research but they all have most of their business non-overlapping with KLAC leader in reticle inspection and metrology. But, there are very limited number of fabs around the world requiring limited number of their machines. And opening a fab is not a cakewalk either.
Compared to semiconductor chip companies like intel, nvidia which can sell enormous amount of cpu/gpu or SAAS companies like Salesforce where every other company requires CRM and Adobe, very less friction in using its creative cloud products and much bigger user base.
My question is purely from the scaling the business pov. As both of these companies have cracked the R&D part.
