I'm almost certain that one day people will look at Bitcoin and question the usefulness of such energy consumption. I see that happening around 2040–2050, but why not now?
This would not mean giving up blockchain technology— which can have many use cases in tomorrow’s world— but banning a tool that is too energy-hungry and low-performing.
Just as we have banned coal mining in favor of better alternatives, we must recognize that it is our duty to do the same with Bitcoin. Together, we can promote a more responsible use of our energy resources while exploring sustainable paths for the future of financial technology.
